scheme involves the reconstruction of two at grade interchanges with grade separated
interchanges to relieve congestion.
The
principal civil engineering activities include:
Stoke Road Junction
- Existing
canal bridges and subways demolished
- Canal
realigned and new canal bridge constructed
- New
road bridge constructed to carry Stoke Road over the new A500 underpass
- Environmental
barriers constructed
- Construction
of the new link roads between City Road and Stoke Road
- Construction
of the new dual carriageway in the existing central reserve
City Road Junction

creation of reed beds

general improvement to the quality of ground water
