1. Cornwallis Street channel
The new channel for the River Trent and Fowlea Brook running adjacent to Cornwallis
Street is nearing completion. The photograph shows work continuing with the
construction of a profiled channel and stone bed.


3. Fowlea Brook Channel
A completed section of the new channel for Fowlea Brook North of City Road
junction. The culvert that will eventually enable Fowlea Brook to flow under
the A500 was completed last year. The breakthrough into the existing culvert
under Brook Street will commence soon.

4. Fowlea Brook channel

channel for Fowlea Brook. This structure will join with the completed section
that runs beneath the New A500 underpass bridge and joins with the River Trent
as it emerges from the old Trent and Mersey canal aqueduct.

5. New Road alignment

new alignment of the Southbound traffic. With traffic now running on each side
of the A500 corridor work can now start in the centre section on the new permanent
carriageway for the A500.

6. Stoke Road underpass

beneath the underpass with the construction of a permanent pumping station.

7. Trent and Mersey Canal

9. Fowlea book
Work to strengthen the existing Fowlea Brook culvert at the far Northern section
of the works adjacent to the A500 Southbound on-slip road from Shelton New Road.
The on-slip has been temporarily closed for the duration of the works.
