Stoke Road Junction

Within the existing roundabout lies the Trent and Mersey Canal with two overbridges for traffic using the roundabout and a pedestrian footbridge within.
The Trent and Mersey Canal will be realigned back onto its' original 19th Century alignment which is presently beneath the roundabout.
The footbridge shown in the picture will be demolished to enable two new bridge structures to be constructed; one above the realigned A500 and one above the canal.
Pedestrians will be able to walk from Stoke Road to Liverpool Street over these new structures which will incorporate planting and high quality finishes. The existing subway network will become redundant.
